CAIRO – The Cabinet, under Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, convened Thursday in order to review the final draft of the national automotive industry strategy, which is set to be launched soon.
The strategy will rely on developing the automotive industry to compete on a global level, added Mabdouli during the meeting.
The strategy reflects Egypt’s keenness on developing the automotive industry in order to attain economic development, he further said.
He, meanwhile, said that based on the available infrastructure, Egypt could be a gateway to the African continent as an emerging auto industry hub.
The strategy will cope with the rules governing the World Trade Organisation (WTO), said Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad.
It will also help to lure new investments, generate jobs and hard currency, he further said.
