The Cabinet approved during its weekly meeting on Wednesday a draft decision on establishing a private free zone for Forward Egypt company for sport and football industries in Sharqia governorate, north of Cairo.
The zone shall be set up on an area of 25,200 square metres in 10th of Ramadan city.
With capital worth $10 million and investment costs estimated at some $22 million, the company is set to have about 800 workers.
At least 80 percent of the total production shall be exported.
Forward Egypt was commissioned by global sports equipment giants Adidas to manufacture a portion of the official balls for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
