CAIRO – The Cabinet’s media centre said Monday that Egypt is seeking, through electric linkage projects with Arab and African countries, to become a pivotal energy hub.
A report by the centre said that Egypt is counting on its geographic location and competitive potentials, as well as daily reserves from the national power grid and increased production from renewable energy sources.
It touched upon a strong and integrated infrastructure that helped support Egypt’s energy strategy.
The government has been acting to encourage local and foreign investments in the energy sector with the aim to enhance economic growth and boost relations with international partners, the report noted.
