Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Thursday said that the inbound tourism has hit a record in 2024, welcoming 15.78 million tourists.
The premier highlighted great importance attached by the state to the promising tourism sector, which is envisaged to contribute to achieving further goals of the national economy and bringing the number of tourists to 30 million annually.
Madbouli was reviewing a report submitted by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy on Egypt’s inbound tourism in 2024.
Fathy said that the Egyptian tourist destination enjoys security, safety and stability, despite the regional geopolitical challenges.
The indicators of inbound tourism during the first half of the current fiscal year 2024-2025, between July 202 4- December 2024, hit a remarkable increase with 8.7 million tourist arrival, the minister said.
He added that the aforementioned indicators forecast achieving about 17 million tourists by the end of the current fiscal year.
The countries that came at the top of the list with largest number of tourists travelling to Egypt are Germany, Russia and Saudi Arabia, during 2024 and the first half of the current fiscal year 2024-2025.
