Cabinet Spokesman Ambassador Nader Saad said on Tuesday that four new companies have applied for the “golden license”, a few days after the government launched a website to receive requests of investors seeking to obtain the license.
On Wednesday, December 7, the Cabinet launched website to apply for the “golden license.” The site includes rules and regulations for prospective investors who seek to start new investment activities.
The spokesman said that the activities of these companies are mainly in the areas of food industries, agricultural crops, furniture and Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM). They have projects in Giza, North Sinai and Beni Suef governorates.
The percentage of the local component of their products ranges between 50 per cent to 80 per cent, he further noted, adding they secure many jobs and work on beefing up their exports through these worthwhile projects.
The golden license is given to companies, which set up strategic or national projects that contribute to achieving sustainable development as per the State’s economic development plan.
It is also granted to companies that establish partnership projects between the private sector and the State, the public sector, or the public business sector, in the fields of public utilities and infrastructure, new and renewable energy, roads and transportation, ports, communications and information technology.
