Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday stressed the strength of the relations between Egypt and Bulgaria and highlighted Egypt’s aspiration to enhance bilateral co-operation mechanisms between the two countries at various levels in addition to increasing trade exchanges and developing economic co-operation to keep pace with the distinguished political relations between the two countries.
The president’s remarks came as he received on Monday a phone call from Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the conversation, the president reviewed ways to enhance bilateral relations, especially including the economic, investment and trade areas, as well as co-operation in the field of energy, Spokesman Radi said.
For his part, the Bulgarian president affirmed keenness to continue coordination and consultation between the two countries in various fields. He also expressed his country’s aspiration to develop and strengthen relations with Egypt, in light of Egypt’s pivotal role under the leadership of the President Sisi to lay the foundations for stability and security in the Middle East, Spokesman Radi said.
The Bulgarian president also noted Egypt’s successful and appreciated efforts in stopping the threat of illegal migration through its territories and to European Union countries, the spokesman said.
