JEDDAH – The US administration is looking forward to activating frameworks of bilateral cooperation and enhancing coordination and strategic consultation with Egypt within the upcoming stage, US President Joe Biden told Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi during their first meeting which was held in Jeddah on Saturday.
Biden, meanwhile, pointed out to Egypt’s pivotal role in the Middle East under the wise leadership of President Sisi which represents a key pillar for maintaining peace and security in the region, according to Egypt’s Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi.
President Sisi’s participation in Jeddah Security and Development Summit comes as part of Egypt’s keenness on promoting partnership between the Arab countries and the US in a manner that meets the aspirations and interests of current and future generations of the peoples of the region.
The president’s visit also comes within the framework of enhancing joint efforts to confront regional and global challenges as well as consultation and coordination on efforts to maintain regional and international security and stability.
It also seeks to strengthen and develop distinguished historical relations with all countries participating in the summit. (MENA)
