Bid to boost ties with Kazakhstan

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal on Thursday met with Kazakhstan Ambassador Kairat Lama Sharif for co-operation talks.

Egypt cherishes its friendship with Kazakhstan as is evident in presidential meetings and contact between the two countries, the governor said.

Discussions covered means to strengthen cooperation between Cairo and Astana as per the friendship and co- operation agreement signed between the two cities in 1999.

The Kazakh envoy said that the Kazakh people are proud of the Al-Zahir Baybars Mosque, which they consider one of the most important landmarks of Egypt that is well worth a visiting.
