Since its launch, the presidential initiative “Bedaya – A New Beginning for Human Development” has provided a total of 145,485,445 services, Minister of Health and Population Dr Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar announced yesterday.
In just the past four days, the initiative delivered 4,472,984 services. These included training 17,483 women through 393 activities and distributing 15.9 tonnes of meat to 15,984 families. Additionally, 45 comprehensive development convoys served 14,492 citizens, alongside 100 educational, awareness, and cultural seminars attended by 2,365 participants.
During this period, 2,880 services were offered across youth and sports activities, benefiting 593,263 individuals. Awareness campaigns, emphasising the critical first 1,000 days of a child’s life, engaged 65,174 citizens through social workers. Social support services – including educational assistance, grants, marriage aid, and compensation – reached 8,161 beneficiaries. Furthermore, 2,229 disability certification and integrated service cards were issued.
Rehabilitation services were extended to 1,614 individuals with disabilities through specialised care institutions. The initiative also distributed 19,432 “Takaful and Karama” cash support cards and trained 30,044 women through the “Rural Women Training Project.”
Health services, totalling 3,019,131, were delivered via 54 medical convoys, encompassing treatment, prevention, family planning, home visits, antenatal care, and child growth monitoring.
Cultural activities during the period included 562 diverse events such as seminars, workshops, lectures, theatrical performances, and artistic initiatives, benefiting 36,700 citizens.
Awareness programmes on museums and archaeological sites reached 2,283 participants. The initiative also funded 149 medium, small, and micro-enterprise projects for youth and underserved families.
Financial inclusion workshops conducted by social workers benefited 1,610 participants. Moreover, 124,415 veterinary services, including deworming, spraying, immunisations, reproductive care, poultry treatments, and public health activities, were provided to 6,263 beneficiaries.
As part of the national “Mawada” programme for premarital training, workshops were conducted for 175 participants. Enhanced documentation and notarisation services – available through extended evening hours and mobile units – resulted in 4,102 services across various governorates.
Additionally, three events focused on occupational safety, first aid, and labour rights under Egyptian labour law. These sessions addressed women’s economic empowerment, workplace equality, labour disputes, and job-seeking strategies, engaging 365 workers from public-sector establishments.
Professional training sessions, including English language courses, were provided to 137 trainees across governorates, while 30 job opportunities were created for individuals with disabilities. Finally, interactive workshops on water conservation and climate change reached 758 students.
