Schools in Egypt’s 27 governorates opened for the first day of academic year 2022-2023. All public, private, language, experimental schools, Al-Azhar and technical schools were open as of today.
Universities and institutes of higher education started a new academic year on Saturday amid strict coronavirus measures during in-person classes in a bid to continue classroom instruction since the switch to virtual education of the last two past years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Students wearing facemasks attended morning assembly and maintained social distancing.
The Ministry of Education has issued guidelines to ensure the safety of students and employees and to follow up action to prevent the spread of infectious diseases among students.
The ministry has said it would ensure the safety of school meals in accordance with health ministry guidelines.
The government has attached due importance to improving education as it is a backbone of development in any country.
