CAIRO – Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb asserted that the Palestinian cause is a vital issue for all Muslims, adding that Al Azhar will never be reluctant to defend the Palestinian people and expose the atrocities and massacres committed by the Israeli occupation forces against them in a flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian norms.
His remarks came during a visit to his office by Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and Egypt’s Mufti Shawqi Allam, accompanied by a high-level delegation of Awqaf Ministry officials.
During the visit, the Awqaf minister and the Mufti asserted that they are fully supporting the stances of Al Azhar Imam and his statements in backing the Palestinian issue, voicing their condemnation of all Israeli occupation crimes.
They also reiterated their condemnation of the Israeli crimes against humanity, affirming that Al Azhar Imam stances reflected the clear vision and historic stance of Al Azhar, the world’s highest seat of learning for Sunni Muslims, towards the Palestinian cause which is a top priority for all Arabs and Muslims across the globe.
