KUALA LUMPUR – Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb has shed light on the moderate teachings of Islam about tolerance, human fraternity and coexistence.
The grand imam’s remarks came on Thursday at a meeting with Malaysian youth scholars and researchers in the presence of Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
El Tayyeb also highlighted Islam’s focus on enhancing peaceful coexistence, warning against some parties that try to foment sedition and spark bigotry and hatred among Muslims.
For his part, Ibrahim lauded Azhar’s great efforts on spreading the moderate teachings and tolerance of Islam.
