CAIR – Egyptian Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram said Tuesday the fifth Forum of “Awladna” for Arts targeting individuals with special needs reflects prior attention the political leadership attaches to protecting the rights of people with special abilities.
During her participation in the gathering’s fifth edition and the Afro-Chinese Art and Folklore Festival, the minister said her ministry’s participation in the forum falls within the framework of efforts to shed light on ‘Egypt’s Voice in Africa Initiative’ that aims at supporting continued interaction with the Egyptian community in Africa through various cultural activities, in line with the State’s efforts to promote the Egyptian role in the continent.
The forum attests to the ability of the Egyptian soft power, she noted.
This year’s theme is ‘Together We Restore Our Joy’ as participants with special abilities meet with African, Chinese and European artistic teams.
“Awladna” is held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, from Nov.16 through 23.
President and Founder of the Forum is Soheir Abdel Qader.
The program of the opening ceremony included a number of artistic performances. Russia is the guest of honor at this year’s gathering.
The event is held with the participation of 36 countries and under the auspices of the ministries of tourism and antiquities, culture, social solidarity, youth and sports, emigration and Egyptian expatriates affairs and planning and economic development.
