Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas asserted that improving the quality of services offered to passengers and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by relying more on new and renewable energy are issues of top priority.
This came during a tour he made Tuesday, together with reporters of civil aviation affairs, to inspect ongoing upgrade projects at Cairo International Airport (CIA). The tour was organized by the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN).
According to him, a number of projects were carried out at the CIA over the past period as part of the Civil Aviation Ministry’s plan to ameliorate services offered to passengers as the CIA is poised to ensure best-in-class quality performance.
The ministry of aviation is also paying great attention to the environment file, reducing carbon emissions resulting for aviation fuel and depending on new and renewable energy, with a view to realizing sustainable economic development, in line with Egypt 2030 Vision, he told the reporters.
During the tour, head of Cairo Airport Company Magdy Ishak said all development efforts at CIA are part of the ministry’s all-out overhaul scheme to ramp up services at the airport.
All drives are meant to facilitate and expedite travel measures for passengers and avoid crowdedness, he added.
The tour included inspecting an automated people mover linking Cairo Airport Terminal 2 and a multi-story car park.
