Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el Hefny has met on Tuesday with President of The General Union of Egyptians Abroad in the United States of America, Raafat Salib and his accompanying delegation to discuss matters concerning the Egyptian community residing in the United States.
The meeting focused primarily on air transport services for the diaspora, with the delegation highlighting the need to launch a direct flight between Cairo and Los Angeles. They cited the large number of Egyptians living in the US and the importance of improving connectivity to encourage tourism and investment while strengthening ties with the homeland.
El Hefny said the ministry is implementing a comprehensive development plan aimed at expanding air links to high-priority destinations for Egyptian expatriates.
He added that EgyptAir is set to receive new long-range Airbus A350 aircraft early next year, which will allow for the launch of direct routes to cities like Los Angeles. The move would help meet growing demand, improve operational efficiency, and better serve Egyptians abroad.
