The introduction camp was divided into two rounds: 300 males, and 200 females learning about the new school culture and experienced an interactive setting to nurture and develop their characters in a way that prepares them for joining IATS. The IATS will be launched in each of the following five governorates: Sharquia, Assiut, Alexandria, Minya, and Giza.
The IATS Camp included various sessions and activities such as English language learning, competency-based education, career guidance, entrepreneurship and innovation, market needs, anti-harassment and anti-bullying sessions, as well as school values. Through Aspire’s scope of service, students are enabled to learn essential life skills and overcome existing stigmas through the use of sports, arts, drama and music.
The consulting firm is specialized in delivering transformational solutions using innovative methodologies serving the private sector, community-based organizations and youth.
USAID-Workforce Egypt Project and the Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MoETE) signed partnership memoranda of understandings (MOUs) with five private, and public sector companies to establish International Applied Technology Schools (IATSs). The five business partners are El Sewedy Electrometer Company, Ahmed Diefalla Group, MisrInsurance Company. Fresh Electric Company, and FathallaMarkets Company. Each company has made a financial commitment to support an IATS, a model that integrates competency-based classroom learning with practical training that will prepare students for immediate employment upon graduation.
The Minister of Education and Technical Education has previously highlighted that the perception of technical education has been gradually improving aiming to increase enrollment in technical education schools to 70%.
The IATS model focuses on training students, in cooperation with the private and public sector, to qualify them for immediate employment in the labor market. Career Development Centers (CDCs) will be a key element of all IATS and will serve as a primary resource for students to explore their interests, build on their talents, and enhance their professional qualifications.
State-of-the-art technological infrastructure, greenery, innovative laboratories, and digital systems will distinguish IATS from other TVET schools.
These schools will provide services to support students in transitioning to the labor market and practical training will be an integral part of their studies. After completing their education, students will receive a national accredited certificate equivalent to a technical school diploma system. IATSs are also designed to be environmentally friendly green schools by using solar energy and applying water reclamation and energy conservation technologies.
