Commander of the Third Field Army Sherif Gouda el-Araishi asserted that Armed Forces personnel recorded the greatest epics and the most amazing heroism during the glorious 6 October 1973.
El-Araishi’s remarks came as President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended the war inspection lineup of the Fourth Armored Division of the Third Field Army in Suez Governorate on Wednesday.
He added that Egypt is destined to live in a region of turmoil, and perhaps the foggy scene surrounding our region is what makes us more keen to strengthen ourselves by possessing the most modern combat systems in the world to be able to confront the challenges that could affect Egypt’s national security.
During the military parade, President Sisi watched a documentary about the sacrifices and heroism of the Third Field Army and its participation in defending the Suez Canal along with its great role in the 6 October 1973 War.
The movie highlighted the greater potentials of the Egyptian Armed Forces to defend the nation’s security and safety in both war and peace, in addition to overcoming challenges and crises.
It also pointed out to heroism achieved by the Armed Forces since December 7, 1967 through the promotion of a defence system to safeguard the Suez Canal Front.
The documentary featured important sound recordings in which President Anwar al-Sadat lauded great abilities of the Third Field Army, which enabled army personnel to protect the Suez Canal and achieve victory.
The documentary also highlighted the great potentials of the Third Field Army, especially that the army is equipped with the most up-to-date military land, aerial maritime equipment, that highly attests to the political leadership’s vision in facing up to growing challenges on the various strategic fronts.
It also shed light on the full support of the general command of the Armed Forces to the Third Field Army, with a view to enabling army personnel to reach the highest combat abilities to carry out any task, as the Third Army is the shield protecting Egypt’s western borders.
The documentary concluded with displaying previous statements by President Abdel El Fattah El Sisi in which he asserted the great abilities of the Egyptian Army.
During the war measures inspection of 4th Armored Division of the Third Field Army, President Sisi witnessed a parade of a sea-to-air missiles, frogmen submarines, torpedoes, troop carriers, transport for paratroopers and special forces.
