Egypt continues to play a leading role in supporting humanitarian and community-based initiatives on both local and international levels.

By providing relief and humanitarian aid to nations affected by crises and disasters, Egypt reaffirms its profound commitment to humanitarian values. These efforts aim to alleviate human suffering and foster international co-operation for global stability and development.

The Egyptian Armed Forces stand at the forefront of national efforts to support citizens in various circumstances, reaffirming commitment to addressing crises and challenges.

The Egyptian Army’s contributions span humanitarian, social, and health-related support, with a view to alleviating the suffering of Egyptian citizens across the country.

Humanitarian aid to Palestinians

On the international front, Egypt, in coordination with several countries, delivered tonnes of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to ease their humanitarian crisis.

Egypt also continued to dispatch hundreds of tonnes of food supplies, medicine, and tents through Al-Arish airport to support isolated areas in Gaza, intensifying efforts in collaboration with friendly countries to aid the Palestinian people.

Assistance to African nations

Egypt provided 3 million doses of the trivalent vaccine against foot-and-mouth disease to Uganda in a critical effort to curb the spread of the disease.

Additionally, medical and humanitarian aid, including food, medicine, and tents, was sent to South Sudan to support its response to humanitarian challenges.

Flood relief in Sudan

In response to devastating floods in Sudan, Egypt sent urgent aid via the supply ship ‘Abu Simbel-2’, targeting the hardest-hit regions. This assistance underscores Egypt’s dedication to supporting neighbouring countries facing severe humanitarian challenges.

Supporting Egyptian civil society

Domestically, the Armed Forces launched the “Your Country is with You” campaign in collaboration with the Agricultural Bank of Egypt and several civil society organisations to assist Egypt’s most vulnerable families.

The campaign included distributing 1,000 school kits and 2 million discounted food packages, ahead of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, alongside 400,000 food packages during Eid al-Adha.

Under the “New Beginning” initiative, 150,000 food parcels were distributed nationwide, and medical support was provided through nine mobile clinics and 50 ambulances.

Social and humanitarian initiatives

The Armed Forces organised numerous social and humanitarian activities, including hosting group iftars for people with special needs and orphans in various governorates in collaboration with local charities.

They also hosted a mass wedding for 1,400 underprivileged families and distributed prosthetic limbs to victims of landmines and war remnants in partnership with the Ministry of International Co-operation.

Education and healthcare initiatives

Efforts to enhance education and healthcare included the opening of the “Jofa Basic Education School” in Central Sinai and organising visits for military college students to hospitals, such as “Ahl Masr” for the treatment of burns and Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357. Military hospitals, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, performed 220 surgeries to reduce waiting lists.

Charity, developmental campaigns

The Southern Military Zone, in partnership with the Tahya Misr Fund and civil society organisations, organised the “Rivers of Goodness” week, providing essential food and medical aid to the neediest families. The initiative also offered about 200 mobile sales vehicles and held specialised exhibitions for individuals with disabilities.

Empowering people with special needs

The state continues to promote the inclusion of individuals with special needs through events and training programmes.

The Military Academy held activities for World Braille Day, while employment opportunities were created for people with disabilities in exhibitions and training courses.

Recruitment teams were sent to a number of governorates to finalise the army conscription procedures of people with special needs and senior citizens.

These extensive initiatives, both locally and internationally, reflect the Egyptian Armed Forces’ pivotal role in promoting humanitarianism and fostering societal solidarity.

By implementing innovative programmes, the Armed Forces enhance Egypt’s policy framework, contributing to regional and global stability.
