ARISH – El-Arish International Airport in North Sinai Governorate received two diverse humanitarian aid aircraft from the United Arab Emirates and Oman for the benefit of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
An official source at El-Arish Airport stated that the first plane, coming from the UAE, carried 48 tons of food, relief supplies, medicines, and tents for the Emirati field hospital in Gaza. The cargo of the plane was unloaded and transferred to the logistical warehouses in El-Arish in preparation for transportation to the Rafah land port and entry into the sector in coordination between the Palestinian and Egyptian Red Crescent and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
The source added that the second plane, coming from Oman, carried 22 tonnes of food provided by the Omani Charitable Organisation.
The source clarified that the total number of aircraft that have arrived at El-Arish Airport since October 12 last year reached 579 aircraft carrying aid from several Arab and foreign countries, regional and international organizations. Among them are 463 planes that carried thousands of tons of various aid and relief materials to the Gaza Strip, provided by 50 Arab and foreign countries, regional and international organizations. Additionally, 106 planes carried official and solidarity delegations that visited the Rafah port, aid warehouses in El-Arish, and Palestinian wounded in hospitals in North Sinai.
