Deputy Head of the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies (ECSS) Mohamed Ibrahim el Dwiery said the Arab responsibility to support Tunisia has become very necessary, expressing hope that the number of Arab countries suffering chronic and unresolved crises would not increase.
In statements to MENA on Friday, Dwiery said the situation in Tunisia is a strong test for that Arab responsibility in the face of some powers that are trying to undermine the North African country’s stability.
The recent decisions taken by Tunisian President Kais Saied came at a time when the situation in Tunisia was deteriorating in various fields, especially by the Ennahda movement, he said said.
Ennahda’s policies and movements have begun to negatively affect the internal political situation, which required urgent intervention from the Tunisian president in order to save the country from further deterioration, he added.
