CAIRO – The Arab Parliament welcomed a decision by Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi to delegate his own powers to a presidential council to proceed with the transitional stage.
In a statement on Thursday, the parliament stressed its full support for the council, voicing hope that the coming period would mark a new start for Yemen to realise security and stability and reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
The parliament hailed Saudi Arabia for offering 3 billion dollars to support the Yemeni economy.
The parliament called for backing a Saudi Arabia initiative for holding an international conference for mobilising financial support for Yemen.
