CAIRO – Arab Parliament (AP) Speaker Adel al-Assoumi called for launching an Arab digital platform for sustainable development bringing together the pan-Arab legislature, the Arab League (AL), Arab national parliaments, along with the private sector and civil society, with a view to propelling Arab efforts meant to realize sustainable development goals.
In a word Thursday, during the inauguration of the international conference on the legal profession and entrepreneurship, the AP speaker said the Arab legislature gives prior attention to realizing sustainable development objectives.
He cited the formation of the joint parliamentary committee for sustainable development, as well as forging guiding laws as reference for Arab countries in this regard.
The gathering is organized by the international gulf center in Cairo, under the auspices of the AL, with the rubric “Law and sustainable development”.
