The Arab mineral resources ministers approved at a meeting in Saudi Arabia a call by Egyptian Minister of Oil Tarek Al Mulla to outline a joint Arab initiative for clean energy.
The initiative includes all the Arab countries and is set to be presented at the coming global climate summit that will be held in the Egyptian city of Sharm el Sheikh this year.
The participants in the 8th meeting of the Arab mineral resources ministers recommended entrusting a working team of the Arab Organisation for Industrial Development to outline the initiative.
They also approved launching the first Arab digital platform for supply and demand of the mining and industrial products.
In his speech at the meeting, Mulla said that Egypt is implementing a program for upgrading the mining industry.
There many opportunities for benefiting from Egypt’s strategic location and its rich geological resources, he added.
