CAIRO – The secretariat of the Arab League (AL) on Monday held an annual ceremony marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which falls every year on November 29.
In 1977, the UN General Assembly called for the annual observance of 29 November as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (resolution 32/40 B).
The ceremony was attended by permanent delegates as well as a number of ambassadors and representatives of Arab and international organisations and public figures.
The event’s activities confirm the Palestinian cause is central to all Arabs and promise continuing support and full solidarity with the Palestinians in their legitimate struggle for freedom and independence, in addition to the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian State, with Al Quds as its capital in line with international law and related international legitimacy resolutions.
