CAIRO – Ambassador Haifaa Abu Ghazalah, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the Arab League (AL), said the Council for Arab Ministers of Health seeks to achieve health security for Arab citizens, through introducing programs and strategies aimed at enhancing the health systems of Arab states.
In a statement released on Thursday on the occasion of the World Health Day, Abu Ghazalah said the Council for Arab Ministers of Health strives to deepen cooperation among Arab countries on different health fields, with a view to improving the quality of health services offered to Arab citizens.
She added the World Health Day is observed on April 7 of each year, which marks the 75th anniversary of founding the World Health Organization, noting the 2023 world celebrations are held under the theme “Health for All”.
The AL assistant secretary general noticed that the Council for Arab Ministers of Health decided in its 58th regular session to observe the Arab Health Day on September 4.
