People with disabilities are effective and productive members of society and will be given all manner of support in setting up and operating small businesses.
This statement by Nevine Gamea, CEO of the Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise Development Agency came during the 4th Turathna (Our Heritage) exhibition in appreciation of disabled participants in the event.
The quality and competitiveness of products by hundreds of disabled exhibitors reflect their capacity to take part effectively in the economic development of their nation, Gamea said.
The exhibition, which opened on Sunday at the International Exhibition Centre in New Cairo will run until October 15 under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Five Arab countries are represented at the event to market heritage products locally and internationally.
One pavilion is designated to showcase the products of small businesses in villages covered by the presidential rural development initiative Decent Life.
