CAIRO – A memorandum of understanding and a joint cooperation agreement were signed on Wednesday between the Arab Organization for Industrialisation (AOI) and Sofema, a leading French company in the field of aircraft engine maintenance and overhaul.

This took place during the third day of the EDEX 2025 International Defense Exhibition.

The agreement was signed by Gamal Ramadan, Chairman of the Engine Factory at the AOI.

Chairman of the AOI Mokhtar Abdel Latif lauded the cooperation with Sofema, praising the company’s extensive expertise and excellence in aircraft engine maintenance and repair.

He explained that the agreement includes cooperation in the overhaul, maintenance and repair of the LARZAC engine used in Alpha Jet aircraft, utilizing the advanced technical and technological capabilities available at the Engine Factory.

For his part, Chairman of Sofema Frédéric Tisserand lauded the partnership with the AOI, noting that the organization is a leading entity in the defense industries at both the Arab and African levels.
