CAIRO – Chairman of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) Abdel Moneim el-Terras asserted Monday the importance of implementing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives about boosting constructive co-operation among the state institutions.
President Sisi had also ordered making use of national capabilities to deepen local manufacture, strengthen IT, achieve industrial integration, up production energies and reduce imports, added Terras during the signing of a co-operation protocol between the Organisation and the Egyptian Federation of Investors Associations (EFIA) Monday.
Terras commended experiences of the Federation and the important role it plays in promoting investment opportunities and developing and modernising different national industry domains.
He said an agreement was reached on the need of fostering industrial co-operation and integration to carry out Egypt Vision 2030, adding the Organisation seeks to meet needs of the Federation in several fields.
Under the protocol, the two sides agreed on co-operating in various research areas including artificial intelligence and new and renewable energy, according to him.
Terras pointed out it is important to enhance co-operation in scientific research, covering the development of manufacture and production systems and finding innovative industrial solutions to deepen local manufacture and strengthen IT.
In turn, EFIA Board Chairman Moharam Helal affirmed the necessity of capitalising on the Organisation’s expertise in supporting local industry and meeting needs of the factories.
