CAIRO – The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has denied reports that the museums of Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada were inundated as a result of recent heavy rains.
Head of the museums sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities Momen Othman described the reports as bare of truth, pointing out the antiquities inside the museum are safe and sound and that tourists are visiting the museums normally.
He also affirmed that all museums nationwide were not affected by rains, adding that an operation room was formed to follow up the conditions of the antiquities in the aftermath of the bad weather that hit the country recently.
