Minister of Social Solidarity, Maya Morsi, on Monday paid an official visit to the Hope Academy for Children with Disabilities (CWD), in El Shorouk City, to review the institutions’ programmes and services.

During the visit, Morsi was briefed on the academy’s comprehensive initiatives, which cater to the development of 150 enrolled children with disabilities.

The programmes, the ministry said in a statement, include skills training, behavioural support, capacity building, and a focus on athletic, artistic, and technological development, reflecting the academy’s commitment to holistic empowerment.

The minister also toured Angels’ Kitchen, a unique initiative in which children with disabilities prepare approximately 150 hot meals daily during Ramadan for distribution to various care homes.

Minister Morsi commended the academy’s staff for their dedication to fostering social integration and enhancing the quality of life for children with disabilities.

She further highlighted the positive impact of such initiatives on empowering individuals and promoting inclusivity within the community.

Mohamed El-Akaby, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity, Ahmed Saada, Executive Director of the Fund for Supporting Projects of Associations and NGOs, Khalil Mohamed, Head of the Central Administration for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities, and Naglaa Ahmed, Director of the Hope Academy, accompanied the minister during the visit.
