Arab Labour Organisation (ALO) Director General Fayez al Mutairi praised the national projects carried out by Egypt under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s leadership, noting that such projects have provided millions of job opportunities for youths.
Addressing the 49th session of the Arab Labour Conference on Monday, Mutairi commended the decision of establishing an emergency relief fund for Egypt’s labourers and Cairo’s efforts to achieve stability among the three production parties (governments, workers and business owners).
He also welcomed Syria’s return to the Arab League and its participation with an official delegation in the 49th session of ALC, voicing hope that such session could crystallise some important recommendations for enhancing the joint Arab action in the field of labour.
Mutairi also noted that the conference comes at a time when most of the world countries are facing hard economic times as a result of the successive world crises such as the coronavirus, the Russia war and the impact of climate change.
He also highlighted the importance of the societal dialogue which he viewed as a condition for achieving comprehensive development and introducing progress in the development plans with the objective of enhancing the economic and societal steadfastness of Arab societies.
