As part of the comprehensive national preparations for the highly anticipated opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Supreme Inspection Committee has affirmed the readiness of Sphinx International Airport to receive international guests and official delegations.
Led by Pilot Montasser Manaa, Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation, the committee—comprising representatives from all relevant authorities—conducted an extensive inspection tour of the airport facilities. They were received by Pilot Ashraf Sadiq, Director of Sphinx International Airport, and Navigator Mahmoud Qarmad, the airport’s Deputy Director.

The tour included a thorough review of both international and domestic arrival and departure halls, VIP lounges, and operational zones. The committee assessed the airport’s capacity to manage passenger flow efficiently, particularly during peak traffic expected around the museum’s grand opening ceremony.
The inspection covered critical areas including the terminal walls, cafeterias, duty-free shops, passport and customs clearance points, catering services, meteorological facilities, and the control tower. Special attention was given to the airport’s information center and security room, which houses the surveillance and camera systems. The functionality and efficiency of luggage belt systems and the smooth movement of passengers through various stages of travel were also verified.

This readiness review is part of Egypt’s broader strategy to ensure seamless hospitality and transport experiences for dignitaries and tourists attending the museum’s launch, a landmark cultural event expected to draw global attention.
