CAIRO – Upon directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, all state bodies were at full swing from the first day of the Sudanese crisis to facilitate and secure the return of Egyptians living in the sisterly country, said Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Thursday.
A crisis room grouping all ministries concerned was formed to regulate the evacuation process, the premier said, thanking all members of the Egyptian embassy and consulates in Sudan for their tireless efforts to bring nationals safely back home.
Madbouli gave the remarks during a meeting of the cabinet at its headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting was dedicated to probing the latest developments of the Sudanese crisis.
He stressed that the Egyptian State is eyeing with concern what is taking place in Sudan and is exerting utmost efforts both at diplomatic and political levels to boost international efforts to cease violence and stem bloodshed.
Madbouli hoped that Sudan will restore its stability as soon as possible.
He expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of the Egyptian diplomat who was killed while coordinating the evacuation of Egyptian nationals from Sudan.
Meanwhile, Higher Education Minister Ayman Ashour and Education Minister Reda Hegazi reviewed at the meeting efforts taken towards Egyptian students returning from Sudan.
Also Emigration Minister Soha el-Gendi expounded underway contacts with Egyptians who are still in Sudan to secure their repatriation.
