CAIRO – The Arab League called for preparing an emergency response plan to deal with the negative economic and social repercussions of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, especially in the Gaza Strip.
The AL highlighted the efforts exerted by the Arab councils of health and social affairs ministers in offering urgent humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians in collaboration with the Egyptian Red Crescent.
Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Social Affairs Haifa Abu Ghazala made the remarks during the 113th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Council at the high-level officials level under Jordan.
She highlighted the importance of the meeting that will prepare economic and social development issues due to be raised during the coming Arab summit in Bahrain.
