The Arab League announced the participation of a team of its monitors under AL Assistant Secretary General Khalil Ibrahim Zawadi to follow up the presidential election in Egypt, slated for December 10-12.
This came under directives of AL Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit.
In a statement on Tuesday, the AL general secretariat said the formation of the team came at an invitation which Abul Gheit received from Chairman of the National Elections Authority Hazem Badawi to monitor the elections.
After the vote, the team will refer a detailed final report to the AL chief to be later sent to the Egyptian authorities concerned.
