The Ministry of Social Security said that Al Gameya Al Shareya launched two convoys in one week for the Palestinian brethren in the Gaza Strip via the Egyptian Rafah Crossing.
In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said that the convoys came in response to the directives of Minister of Social Security Nevine el Kabbag, in a meeting with Secretary General of Al Gameya Al Shareya Moustafa Ismail, to accelerate the flow of humanitarian aid supplies to the Gaza Strip in coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent and the bodies of the state.
The convoys included 87 trucks carrying 1,371 tons of food and humanitarian aid supplies that worth EGP 28.5 million.
Meanwhile, Ismail said that the convoys come as part of the humanitarian and national role of Al Gameya Al Shareya towards the Palestinian brethren.
The aid supplies included flour, rice, drinking water and food supplies in addition to clothes, he said.
