CAIRO – The Arab League and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) launched a joint initiative to boost regional integration and co-operation and help the Arab countries to achieve their developmental goals.
This came during the 31st session of the ESCWA on Monday in the presence of AL Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit and ESCWA Executive Secretary Rola Dashti.
In her speech, Dashti said that the initiative which is under the rubric “Arab vision 2045: In road to achieve hope with thinking, management, work” is based on six main pillars including security, justice, innovation and creativity, prosperity and sustainable development, diversity and vividness and cultural and civilisation renewal.
Dashti also reviewed the role and accomplishments of ESCWA in the fields of supporting development, boosting information building, presenting subjective and constructive consultations in the different domains of development in addition to training thousands of cadres.
