BRUSSELS – Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit on Monday concluded his participation in the Arab meetings with European foreign ministers in Brussels regarding the situation in Palestine amid the Israeli aggression on the Gaza strip.
The two-day Brussel’s meetings sought mulling ways of reaching a political settlement based on the two-state solution, AL Assistant Secretary General Hossam Zaki said, adding that the meetings tackled efforts meant to end the war.
The AL secretary general affirmed that the continuation of the Israeli assaults may undermine peace opportunities and achieving the two-state solution, the spokesman said.
Abul Gheit thanked foreign ministers of Ireland, Norway and Spain for recognising the independent Palestinian state, the spokesman added.
