CAIRO – Egyptian Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed el-Tayyeb has said that the most prestigious Sunni Islamic organisation in the world spares no effort to offer all forms of support to African countries in the fields of science, culture, medicine and Da’awa (Islamic call), out of its historical role to support African peoples.

During a meeting on Monday with new Egyptian Ambassador to Chad Osama el-Hady at Al-Azhar premises in Cairo, the Grand Imam promised to pay greater attention to Chadian students and eliminate obstacles facing them while joining Al-Azhar educational institutions.

For his part, the Egyptian envoy expressed happiness at meeting the Grand Imam and getting acquainted with efforts exerted by Al-Azhar to support Chad in the Da’awa, science and relief domains.

The diplomat said that he will do his best to eliminate obstacles facing Chadian students while trying to get enrolled at Al-Azhar.
