Al Azhar Observatory condemns shooting incident in Oman

Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism has condemned the shooting incident which took place near a mosque in Oman’s capital, Muscat, which resulted in casualties and injuries.

In a statement on Wednesday it said that terrorizing innocent people, shedding blood, and targeting gatherings have no place in Islam.

It strongly rejected all forms of violence aimed at undermining security, stability, and endangering the lives of peaceful residents.

The Observatory extended condolences to the families of the victims and the government of Oman, praying to Allah to grant the victims His mercy, and to give their families patience and solace.

Six people, including four Pakistanis, were killed and nearly 30 wounded in the shooting which occurred near a Shiite mosque in Muscat.
