The Egypt International Defence and Military Industries Exhibition (EDEX 2025) has featured a practical confirmation of the success of the industrial localisation strategy, that demonstrated through the joint display of Egyptian industrial capabilities.
The outlines of vital co-operation between the Egyptian Air Force and the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) emerged as a leading model for high-quality national production, a special tour by The Egyptian Gazette in the Egyptian Pavilion has revealed.
The tour highlighted specialised production units, which are the fruit of this strategic co-operation aiming at supporting both defence and civil requirements.
Specialised products
The Rubber Products Factory, heart of the Industrial Partnership. The exhibits from this factory represent the most prominent outcomes of the cooperation. It was confirmed that production takes place within the framework of an industrial partnership between Air Force and AOI.
This partnership aims to achieve self-sufficiency in vital components, as the factory demonstrates a superior capacity to produce more than 3,500 different types of high-quality rubber products.
The production fields vary to include specialised spare parts, seals, O-rings, and metal-reinforced rubber components, which are crucial products for the aviation and automotive industries.
Furthermore, the Air Force, through the Quality and Accreditation Calibration Centre – a production accredited by the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority – meets the highest international quality standards. This allows it to supply regional and international clients, including Nile Air and Alkan Air.
Calibration Centre
To ensure the accuracy and reliability of the components produced through the partnership, the Main Calibration Centre offers advanced technical services, such as international accreditation, making it a locally and internationally certified reference centre. This guarantees that all measurements and products comply with the highest standards.
The centre’s comprehensive services cover the calibration of electrical, mechanical, dimensional, optical, and thermal fields – an indispensable function for sensitive aviation and defence equipment industries.
Heat, surface treatment unit
Also on display at the exhibition was the heat and surface Treatment unit, which offers specialised services in heat treatments and surface finishes, including electroplating and electrolytic coating.
The centre gains a competitive advantage by offering durable coating layers that provide exceptional resistance to corrosion and rust, thus prolonging the lifespan of components and ensuring their performance under harsh conditions. This directly supports the requirements of the modern Air Force.

Integration achieves sovereignty
The Egyptian Gazette‘s tour revealed how the Egyptian Pavilion at EDEX 2025 functioned as platform for showcasing an integrated joint manufacturing model.
This demonstrates that industrial integration between military institutions (such as the Air Force) and gigantic national institutions (such as AOI) is the true driving force behind Egypt’s ability to design, manufacture, and supply defence and civil products with Egyptian hands, thus achieving a quantum leap towards self-sufficiency and industrial sovereignty.
