The Arab Industrialisation Organisation (AIO) and IKEN Technology have signed an agreement for co-operation in the field of digital transformation.
Minister of Communication and Information Technology (CIT), Amr Talaat, Minister of Public Enterprise Sector Hesham Tawfiq and AIO Chairman Abdel-Monem el-Tarras attended, via video, the signing of the co-operation pact between AIO Director Abdul-Rahman Abdul-Azeem, and IKEN CEO, Houssam Reda el-Gamal.
The agreement is part of the executive steps of a co-peration protocol between the two sides concluded last year, seeking to make utmost use of the technical, logistics and investment capabilities available at the AIO and IKEN, a company operating in fields of digital transformation, Internet of things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and solutions of integrated systems, and cybersecurity.
For his part, the CIT minister emphasised the importance of enhancing the manufacturing and establishing a base of national cadres for promoting technological industries and optimize local production, as part of state efforts to cope with digital transformation.
Minister Tallaat also stressed keenness on boosting co-operation with the leading world firms, responding to a presidential initiative to localise the electronics industry. Today’s agreement will promote the AIO’s capabilities in this field, he said.
Minister of Public Enterprise Sector Hesham Tawfiq, welcomed the deal, saying his ministry was working on an ambitious project to install the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system in 63 holding companies and subsidiaries, with costs worth $50 million.
Commenting on the agreement, the AIO Chairman el-Tarras, highlighted the efforts to implement President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives for deepening manufacturing and localise digital transformation technology, providing smart services in line with the international standards.
The AIO is mustering its technical and technological capabilities to achieve these goals, as part of the Egypt Vision 2030.
IKEN CEO el-Gamal said that his firm was very keen on co-operating with the AIO, adding that IKEN would be launch joint investments and offer expertise and transfer knowledge, in addition to providing training.
