Egypt’s West Port Said Port welcomed the cruise ship Aida Stella from Alexandria today. The SCZone reported that the ship brought 2,067 tourists and 648 crew members to the city for a one-day visit.
A sightseeing programme has been arranged for the passengers, including short excursions to Cairo to visit archaeological sites, as well as tours within Port Said to explore key historical landmarks.
The vessel is scheduled to depart later today for Limassol, continuing its cruise itinerary.
In a statement on Friday, SCZone said the reception of the vessel reflects ongoing efforts to boost cruise tourism traffic across its Mediterranean and Red Sea ports, enhance operational readiness, and accommodate various types of cruise ships regularly, while providing integrated logistical services.
The statement added that this underscores the confidence of international shipping lines in the efficiency and capabilities of Egyptian ports.
It noted that these efforts are being implemented in parallel with continued infrastructure development, including dredging works to increase water depths in line with international port operation standards.
The statement further highlighted that its ports benefit from a strategic location at the northern entrance of the Suez Canal, giving them a competitive advantage as destinations for cultural and leisure tourism, while ensuring smooth passenger movement in coordination with relevant authorities.
