CAIRO – The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation denied reports about cutting down trees at Giza Zoo.
Agriculture Minister El Sayed El Quseir dispatched a team of experts to the zoo to conduct a field inspection.
Following their field inspection, the team denied those reports as baseless, explaining that the viral pictures showing a tractor trimming trees and not cutting down them.
On his part, Spokesman for the Agriculture Ministry Ahmed Ibrahim said the trees in Giza Zoo and Orman Garden are trimmed and pruned for six months.
The spokesman appealed to mass media outlets and social media users to seek accuracy before spreading any false information that could stir public opinion and communicate with the ministry to get information from reliable sources.
