CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk has said that President Abdel Fatah El Sisi pays unprecedented attention to the agricultural sector.
The minister’s statements came during the second conference on agriculture and food held on Monday under theme “Towards sustainable agriculture development.”
The minister described the agricultural sector as the backbone of the national economy, saying it contributes to 15 per cent of the GDP and increases agricultural exports which help in supporting the foreign currency needs.
