Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk confirmed that the Egyptian government, following the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, has taken many measures to encourage investors and improve the investment climate.
Farouk emphasised that the agricultural sector in Egypt is a promising one, full of many important investment opportunities, adding that the state is keen to involve the private sector in efforts to achieve sustainable agricultural development.
The minister’s remarks came during a meeting on Saturday 20/12/2025 with a high-level delegation of Chinese experts to follow up on the developments of the project to establish a new pesticide manufacturing plant in Egypt.
During the meeting, the executive plans for the project were reviewed.
The plant will be established with the highest levels of modern Chinese technology to transfer advanced pesticide manufacturing technology to Egypt, through a joint Egyptian-Chinese investment partnership with Egyptian investors.He stressed the importance of this co-operation, which contributes to localising the pesticide industry in Egypt, transferring advanced technology, and enhancing local manufacturing capabilities in line with the goals of sustainable development and Egypt Vision 2030.
Minister Farouk pointed out that this would undoubtedly add value to the national economy and ensure the availability of safe and effective pesticides according to the latest international standards.The minister also emphasised the need for a comprehensive action plan to ensure the sustainability of the project and the transfer of technology, as well as strict monitoring of all stages of production to ensure they meet international technical and environmental specifications.
He highlighted the importance of research and development to increase crop productivity and protect public health.
