The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Saturday said that Egypt’s agricultural exports have surpassed 6.4 million tons, recording an increase of more than 529,000 tons compared with the same period of the previous year.
This came in a report which the minister received from Mohamed Mansi, the head of the agricultural quarantine department, about the total exports between January 1st -September 18, 2024.
The most important agricultural exports are citrus, potatoes, onion, grapes, beans, mango, tomatoes, garlic, strawberry, guava and pomegranate, according to the report.
The total agricultural exports of citrus hit 2.201 million tons, while the exports of potatoes came in the second place with 965.796 tons, the report read.
The exports of onion ranked third with 261,580, followed by beans with 192,925 tons of exports and grapes with 175,061 tons.
