Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation El Sayed El Quseir has urged agriculture experts to promptly issue urgent precautionary measures to be circulated on media outlets to guide farmers in dealing with crops, equipment, chemicals as well as choosing appropriate irrigation timing in light of current climate conditions.
The minister of agriculture on Monday instructed the ministry officials to intensify field presence with farmers, disseminate awareness among farmers and provide technical guidance for them, with a view to mitigating impact of the current heatwave on agricultural crops, according to a statement issued by the ministry.
Quseir directed the ministry’s officials to issue technical recommendations to breeders, farmers and farm owners to protect livestock and poultry during the current heatwave and lessen its effect, the statement said.
