CAIRO – Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture announced that the total agricultural exports in the first half of 2024 reached 4.9 million tonnes, with an increase of 300,000 tonnes in comparison with same period in 2023.
According to a half-yearly report received Wednesday by Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk from Supervisor of Foreign Agricultural Relations and Central Administration of Plant Quarantine Saad Moussa, the dollar value of the exported fresh agricultural main goods reached 2.9 billion dollars with an increase of 600 million dollars compared to the same period in 2023.
The Agriculture Ministry is working on implementing the president’s directives to boost agricultural exports and support agricultural quarantine system, said the official.
Agricultural exports are key propellers to Egyptian economy, he added.
