Egyptian Telecommunications Minister Amr Talaat decided on Monday to form the board of trustees of Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) under the chairmanship of former president Adly Mansour, according to MENA.

The board of trustees will include Sherif Ali Mohamed Hamad, the former minister of scientific research, Assistant Foreign Minister Ehab Badawy, Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation Karam Gabr, Deputy Telecommunications Minister for Administrative Development and Digital Transformation Khaled Lotfy el Attar and Deputy Telecommunications Minister for Infrastructure Affairs Rafaat Abdel Aziz Fahmy.

A number of prominent figures, including university professors and CEOs of some corporations, had also been appointed to join the board of trustees.

The president, last week, issued a decree on establishing EUI in the New Administrative Capital.

EUI, the first university in Africa and the MENA region specialised in the ICT domain and its related sectors, has successfully signed two agreements with Purdue University, West Lafayette (PWL) ranked as #7 as best Engineering schools, #6 in Cyber Security and #36 best undergrad teaching in US News in 2021.

The university has four faculties; the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences, the Faculty of Business Informatics and the Faculty of Digital Art and Design.
